Sunday Musings [8]: Debut & Appreciation Post!

Two birds one stone - I stumbled upon The Sunday Post Meme hosted by the lovely Caffinated Book Reviewer & the Stacking The Shelves meme hosted by the awesome Tynga's Reviews! It is quite similar to what I'm doing here with my Sunday musings - recapping the week in book blogging universe as well as letting you guys know about what books I bought or received.

Most important this week was the release of LAST YEAR'S MISTAKE! For any of you followers of my blog here or on Instagram, you know I've been non-stop posting about this book! I received an ARC of it earlier this year and when I read it, I was touched by it! There is a plethora of reasons why any YA lover should add this book to their shelves. Top reason being that the teens in Last Year's Mistake resemble most accurately, teens in real life. All the little imperfections and flaws that make teens human! I haven't found that in a loooooong while. There were a lot of things I saw in Last Year's Mistake that I went through and so it holds a very special place in my heart this book. ♥ Sometimes when we pick up a book in stores, online or wherever, we never think about (or at least I don't) the author who stands behind it. It is hard when we get caught up with story-lines, characters, etc, to imagine that someone out there sat down and wrote everything that we experience on these pages. I think what makes Last Year's Mistake a little more special to me is the interaction with its author that I was fortunate enough to have. I want to extend a HUGE thank you to the author of said book, GINA CIOCCA! She is such an amazing person and thank you for sharing Last Year's Mistake with the rest of us! Thanks for creating relatable characters that we can't help but fall in love with! Most of all, thank you for allowing me to freak out to you about Last Year's Mistake! I went a little post crazy but I'd do it all again! You my friend, are AWESOME! I can't wait to see what happens next in your bookish journey!

Happening This Week:

A Review of Zack By Sawyer Bennett

NEW Books added to my shelf this week:

LAST YEAR'S MISTAKE! In all it's final hardcover glory!
It was funny, this book was scheduled to be released in stores June 9th but I went to the local bookstore in HOPES that someone might have accidentally shelved the books early. My luck, it was shelved early and so thus, I picked them ALL UP! I'm just joking, I wish I did though - just one copy for me!

That's it for now lovelies♥ Let me know how your week went in the comments below ;)

AS ALWAYS,
HAPPY READING &SUNDAY!

    1. Maybe it's not for everyone - it portrays teens who make some choices that people may either see has stupid/juvenile or accurate to real life teenagers. I think theres a very true-to-actual-life quality about the characters/story! Definitely recommend you check it out for yourself! Please come back and let me know how you like it if you do read it!

  8. I'm really looking forward to reading Last Year's Mistake. I've heard so many good things about it! And I'm also excited for The Rest of Us Live Here. Have you seen the alternate cover that features a few characters? I was told it glows in the dark, I have no idea if that's true though, but it is gorgeous! Hope you have another eventful week! :)

  9. I'm curious to see what you think about Last Year's Mistake because I haven't heard many good things about it! Alot of mixed reviews, and quite a few DNF's so I passed on it a long time ago, but I'm still intrigued to see everyone's reactions. GIRL Patrick Ness is my all time favorite author so I'm super pumped for any upcoming release he has. I have the ARC of The Rest Of Us Just Live Here, but I honestly want to wait to read the physical copy because like Blessie said, the American edition glows in the dark. Thank the bookish gods for this creative man lol. It's a pleasure to meet you, you'll definitely see alot of me here on your blog :)
