Do you ever feel after a day like Waiting on Wednesday your list of TBR grows significantly? I wanted to mention a few titles that really caught my eye this week on the blogosphere after browsing the wonderful Waiting on Wednesday lists!

1. Brown-Eyed Girl By Lisa Kleypas
Expected Release: August 11th 2015

Wedding planner Avery Crosslin may be a rising star in Houston society, but she doesn't believe in love--at least not for herself. When she meets wealthy bachelor Joe Travis and mistakes him for a wedding photographer, she has no intention of letting him sweep her off her feet. But Joe is a man who goes after what he wants, and Avery can't resist the temptation of a sexy southern charmer and a hot summer evening.

After a one night stand, however, Avery is determined to keep it from happening again. A man like Joe can only mean trouble for a woman like her, and she can't afford distractions. She's been hired to plan the wedding of the year--a make-or-break event.

But complications start piling up fast, putting the wedding in jeopardy, especially when shocking secrets of the bride come to light. And as Joe makes it clear that he's not going to give up easily, Avery is forced to confront the insecurities and beliefs that stem from a past she would do anything to forget.

The situation reaches a breaking point, and Avery faces the toughest choice of her life. Only by putting her career on the line and risking everything--including her well-guarded heart--will she find out what matters most.

I absolutely LOVE Lisa Kleypas' writing so this book is kind of on top of my TBR pile! (The pile is an absolute chaotic mess right now, it may have fallen over and spilled over EVERYWHERE!) Sugar Daddy which is the first book of Lisa's Travises Series is a favourite of mine. Lisa's writing makes any contemporary romance of hers an instant buy for me!

Waiting On Wednesday [13]: Weird Girl and What's His Name By Meagan Brothers

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine - spotlighting books that haven't been released yet!

My Waiting on Wednesday this week is...
Weird Girl and What's His Name By Meagan Brothers
Expected Release Date: October 13th 2015

In the tiny podunk town of Hawthorne, North Carolina, seventeen-year-old geeks Lula and Rory share everything—sci-fi and fantasy fandom, Friday night binge-watching of old X-Files episodes, and that feeling that they don’t quite fit in. Lula knows she and Rory have no secrets from each other; after all, he came out to her years ago, and she’s shared with him her “sacred texts”—the acting books her mother left behind after she walked out of Lula’s life. But then Lula discovers that Rory—her Rory, who maybe she’s secretly had feelings for—has not only tried out for the Hawthorne football team without telling her, but has also been having an affair with his middle-aged divorcee boss. With their friendship disrupted, Lula begins to question her identity and her own sexual orientation, and she runs away in the middle of the night on a journey to find her mother, who she hopes will have all the answers. Meagan Brother’s piercing prose in this fresh LGBT YA novel speaks to anyone who has ever felt unwanted and alone, and who struggles to find their place in an isolating world.
Ages 14–up.

Some heavy themes here and a depth that I can't wait to dive into! This is a book I hope lives up to all the hype. The friendship sounds so intricate and delicate at the same time I wonder how it's all going to end! Anyone else feel that way too?

Leave a link in the comments below to your own Waiting on Wednesday I'll make sure to stop by!

AS ALWAYS,
HAPPY READING!

Tuesday Thoughts & Talks [12]: Where DOES the Sidewalk End? It DOESN'T

This is a meme hosted HERE that asks us to present something we've learned or thought about after we finished reading a book to anyone out there - sparking a conversation amongst us!

What I Read to Spark the feels:
Where the Sidewalk Ends By Shel Silverstein

The book up for discussion this week is one of my favourites! I grew up loving the writing of the great Shel Silverstein. Even more I loved all his illustrations! It was incredible to me how one person could create such a world with poetry. And to think, these were written and drawn over 30 years ago! What makes his work so timeless? That is the root of this Tuesday. I think Shel Silverstein's body of work remains relevant to this day because of how outrageous and wild his content is! There is never anything 'wrong' or 'right' about his writings. It's all imagination and that I guess, never expires. I could read a poem of his today and feel the same about it in 10 years, albeit I'll have more experience to apply to it. There is a whimsical quality to his work that you can't help but transport yourself to a different mindset. When you're there anything goes! Do you know what I mean? It's become what you expect out of a Shel Silverstein book/poem - dark, twisty, unrealistic, and totally emotionally cut!

Sunday Musings [13]: My Week in Pictures & New Books

Two birds one stone - I stumbled upon The Sunday Post Meme hosted by the lovely Caffinated Book Reviewer & the Stacking The Shelves meme hosted by the awesome Tynga's Reviews! It is quite similar to what I'm doing here with my Sunday musings - recapping the week in book blogging universe as well as letting you guys know about what books I bought or received.

The BloggityBLOG this week played host to the book It's A Wonderful Death By Sarah J. Schmitt. And no I was not sponsored in anyway to do postings or what not for it - I genuinely am so excited for its release in the Fall! The book made me think a lot about the ole' question, would you turn back time to correct the past mistakes you've made knowing that your entire life presently would be altered? It's a crazy concept that is always fun to think about! Hop over to my Tuesday post if you want to talk more about this topic ;P In other my life news, I spent the latter part of my week away in Waterloo with some of my best friends. Sort of having our annual summer hang out. It's hard to keep in daily contact with these people because we're miles away from each other and we lead very different and chaotic life styles! It 'twas a blast to see these people again and a good humbling reminder that distance is but a number! An accomplishment for the week was getting my Korean Food craving satisfied! I took my momma out to one of my favourite Korean restaurants, Owl of Minerva. Seriously, any readers out there in the Toronto area you've got to check this place out if you like Korean food! The best pork bone soup out there!

Review: GREY By E.L. James

Title: GREY
Author: E L James
Published Date: June 18th 2015

See the world of Fifty Shades of Grey anew through the eyes of Christian Grey.

In Christian's own words, and through his thoughts, reflections, and dreams, E L James offers a fresh perspective on the love story that has enthralled millions of readers around the world.

Christian Grey exercises control in all things; his world is neat, disciplined, and utterly empty—until the day that Anastasia Steele falls into his office, in a tangle of shapely limbs and tumbling brown hair. He tries to forget her, but instead is swept up in a storm of emotion he cannot comprehend and cannot resist. Unlike any woman he has known before, shy, unworldly Ana seems to see right through him—past the business prodigy and the penthouse lifestyle to Christian’s cold, wounded heart.

Will being with Ana dispel the horrors of his childhood that haunt Christian every night? Or will his dark sexual desires, his compulsion to control, and the self-loathing that fills his soul drive this girl away and destroy the fragile hope she offers him?

This book is intended for mature audiences.
(Synopsis Provided By Goodreads)

I can't believe it's finally here and I've read it and I loved it. Now I want the next one. *GRABBY HANDS* I guess this is the Grey fever that had me ploughing through the first three? Grey is what I expected it to be and more. Overall this story seemed to bring Christian Grey into a more human light. For those who hated the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy, I don't think you'll find anything here that'll change your mind. For those who loved the series like I, you'll be satisfied ;) It is all about Christian Grey, what more did we want?

Reflect Thursday [11]: Shining Books of Waiting on Wednesday

Do you ever feel after a day like Waiting on Wednesday your list of TBR grows significantly? I wanted to mention a few titles that really caught my eye this week on the blogosphere after browsing the wonderful Waiting on Wednesday lists!

1. The Boy Most Likely To (My Life Next Door #2) By Huntley Fitzpatrick
Expected Release: August 18th 2015

Surprises abound and sparks ignite in the highly anticipated, utterly romantic companion to My Life Next Door

Tim Mason was The Boy Most Likely To:
- find the liquor cabinet blindfolded
- need a liver transplant
- drive his car into a house

Alice Garrett was The Girl Most Likely To:
- well, not date her little brother’s baggage-burdened best friend, for starters.

For Tim, it wouldn’t be smart to fall for Alice. For Alice, nothing could be scarier than falling for Tim. But Tim has never been known for making the smart choice, and Alice is starting to wonder if the “smart” choice is always the right one. When these two crash into each other, they crash hard.

Then the unexpected consequences of Tim’s wild days come back to shock him. He finds himself in a situation that isn’t all it appears to be, that he never could have predicted . . . but maybe should have.

And Alice is caught in the middle.

Told in Tim’s and Alice’s distinctive, disarming, entirely compelling voices, this return to the world of My Life Next Door is a story about failing first, trying again, and having to decide whether to risk it all once more.

(Synopsis Provided By Goodreads)

Alright, so I haven't read My Life Next Door yet but I just know I'm going to love it! The covers are beautiful and the characters seem to have depth! The reviews I've read online about the author and the first book have all been positive so this was an indirect recommendation from you internet!! ;)

2. A Sudden Light By Garth Stein
Expected Release: August 28th 2015

When a boy tries to save his parents’ marriage, he uncovers a legacy of family secrets in a coming-of-age ghost story by the author of the internationally bestselling phenomenon, The Art of Racing in the Rain.

In the summer of 1990, fourteen-year-old Trevor Riddell gets his first glimpse of Riddell House. Built from the spoils of a massive timber fortune, the legendary family mansion is constructed of giant, whole trees, and is set on a huge estate overlooking Puget Sound. Trevor’s bankrupt parents have begun a trial separation, and his father, Jones Riddell, has brought Trevor to Riddell House with a goal: to join forces with his sister, Serena, dispatch Grandpa Samuel—who is flickering in and out of dementia—to a graduated living facility, sell off the house and property for development into “tract housing for millionaires,” divide up the profits, and live happily ever after.

But Trevor soon discovers there’s someone else living in Riddell House: a ghost with an agenda of his own. For while the land holds tremendous value, it is also burdened by the final wishes of the family patriarch, Elijah, who mandated it be allowed to return to untamed forestland as a penance for the millions of trees harvested over the decades by the Riddell Timber company. The ghost will not rest until Elijah’s wish is fulfilled, and Trevor’s willingness to face the past holds the key to his family’s future.

A Sudden Light is a rich, atmospheric work that is at once a multigenerational family saga, a historical novel, a ghost story, and the story of a contemporary family’s struggle to connect with each other. A tribute to the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, it reflects Garth Stein’s outsized capacity for empathy and keen understanding of human motivation, and his rare ability to see the unseen: the universal threads that connect us all

(Synopsis Provided By Goodreads)

This is not in the realm of my usual reads but the storyline surrounding this Riddell House was too interesting to pass! I love the historic atmosphere the author seems to have here that goes into a sort of paranormal aspect. I really wonder how the story is resolved!
