Reflect Thursday: Shining Books of Waiting on Wednesday! [2]

Do you ever feel after a day like Waiting on Wednesday your list of TBR grows significantly? I wanted to mention a few titles that really caught my eye this week on the blogosphere after browsing the wonderful Waiting on Wednesday lists!

Once again this is a book I saw around the blogosphere a lot yesterday during Waiting on Wednesday. The cover had such beautiful typography that I had to stop and read the blurb! The blurb sets a really dynamic story with a lot of deep emotions and I'm a huge sucker for books that aim to pull on heartstrings! Thanks to all that brought this to my attention on WoW!

2. Not After Everything By Michelle Levy

First I want to say that I absolutely LOVED The Spectacular Now movie adaptation and so when a book sells itself as 'great for fans of The Spectacular Now' I'm going to stop and give it a try! And after reading the blurb, this book bumped it's way up to the top of my TBR and to buy ASAP list! I always love the male POV in a struggle such as the one painted here. Such potential to be amazing and so I thank those who posted this as their WoW!

This story sounds like a reverse Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist - in a way, right? Or is that just me? I think this story is promising because when given such a small amount of time - one night - the writing and the story tend to leave out all the unnecessary and focus in on the important things!

Tuesday Thoughts & Talks [2]

This is a meme hosted HERE that asks us to present something we've learned or thought about after we finished reading a book to anyone out there - sparking a conversation amongst us!

What I Read to Spark the feels:

This week for my Tuesday T&T, I want to talk about the idea of love at first sight. The book Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist sparked the thought this time around. Maybe it was the idea of falling for someone in one night's time (somewhat the premise of Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist) that triggered my thought. I'd like to believe in the idea of love at first sight. What it's made to be like in movies and books is something I would love to experience. I know I'm a highly emotional person. I cry at everything! And I don't wish it any other way. I enjoy feeling a rush of emotion, good & bad. As cliché as it might sound, I feel like at those moments of heightened emotion, I know I'm alive! I know that I base a lot of things that I love on various factors as well. There is a long list of things that make me love ketchup for example. And then there is a long list of reasons that I love my momma. Could I blindly love someone without knowing all the factors? 

So, love at first sight - yay or nay for you? Some people say love takes time ('falling' in love) but could it be instantaneous? I guess I leave this thought open to interpretation because I sure know there are a lot of reasons why people don't or can't believe in love at first sight.

Review: Remember When By T. Torrest

I can’t confirm any of the gossip from his early years out in Tinseltown, but based on what I knew of his life before he was famous, I can tell you that the idea of Girls-Throwing-Themselves-At-Trip is not a new concept.

Sunday Musings: New Books & Meme Love! [3]

Two birds one stone - I stumbled upon The Sunday Post Meme hosted by the lovely Caffinated Book Reviewer & the Stacking The Shelves meme hosted by the awesome Tynga's Reviews! It is quite similar to what I'm doing here with my Sunday musings - recapping the week in book blogging universe as well as letting you guys know about what books I bought or received.

Quite exciting stuff this past week here at the BloggityBLOG. It was the launch of my Tuesday Thoughts & Talks meme! Being a new meme and all, I was super happy to have one participant! With starting a book meme, I never knew what response it was going to garner but I set that aside and focused on what I wanted to share with the book community out there. And so the idea of the Tuesday Thoughts & Talks meme is, every Tuesday we'd share a thought we had while reading a book or afterward, that really made us think. It could be about anything! Food, shoes, life, what tomorrow looks like, what childhood reminds us of - ANYTHING! I wanted to get people engaged in a conversation across the internet about what books bring out in us and what fires to they set off in our minds! As for the new books bought this week, I have three:

The first of the three is Whiskey & Charlie. An adult fiction, and from what the back cover I can get that the story is of twin boys Whiskey and Charlie who as children are best of friends but as they grow up, they fade into two very different boys, both in the shadows of each other. As adults, they lead completely different lives until one of them gets into a terrible accident that lands them in a come. When his other half's life is in jeopardy, one twin realizes that maybe he'll never be able to say all he needed to say after all this time. The synopsis really had me intrigued! 

Second new book I bought this week is not really a 'new' read for me but I finally picked up a physical copy of my FAVOURITE contemporary romance novel, Tangled! This series was so funny and the characters were so sassy! Drew and Katherine both make millions in the world of investment banking. And both are vying for the top spot at the firm they both work at. Drew thinks it's his god-given right to be at the top - considering it's his dad's company - but Katherine just might knock him off his high horse. Suddenly Katherine has Drew on his toes, making him work harder than he has before, and not just for work but for her too. This book is too funny!

Last but not least is Sarah Dessen's Saint Anything! It was this beautiful book covers release week! So happy be-lated book birthday to it! I'm one of those dedicated Sarah Dessen fans so I just HAD to add this to the collection! I'm sure this book has made it onto a lot of shelves this week!

I think readers who've enjoyed the Tangled Series by Emma Chase will find Practice Makes Perfect enjoyable! J.D is a very loveable character - with his sarcasm and dialogue with Payton. This book definitely has many LOL moments. The chemistry between the characters was amazing, I had a permanent smile while reading through this book!
