Books to Movies: Yes or No?

We all know the new phase in hollywood is turning books into a movie.
SOME are amazingly done and others well, speak for themselves.
What I'm interested in knowing from all of you is whether you like the adaptations you've seen so far and are looking forward for others to follow or are you more against risking your favourite book being made into a movie.

Some of my favourite adaptations...
-The Notebook
-A Walk to Remember
-The Shawshank Redemption

What are some of your favourites that have been made into a good movie and if not, even better? Make sure to leave a comment below! =)

Beach!

I went to the beach today here in Toronto Ontario and boy was it bad weather. It wasn't TERRIBLE but could have been WAY better. Even worse was when the thunderstorm started to pour on us. And let's not forget the seagulls. Why do people feed them? They come back even daring and try to get the food from you, up close and personal.

Besides the point of this blog. What I wanted to know are what are good summer beach reads that everyone has? Is there a list you have set or are you going on suggestions your friends have made? Also, what do you look forward to accomplishing this summer?

Top of my list includes:
-TAN my glowstick legs. =)

I'll keep you guys posted on how that goes!

Make sure to leave a comment below on your summer reads and goals for the summer!

Book Review: Clockwork Angel By:Cassandra Clare

Typing just the name of this blog entry gets me giddy. Every time I hear the name Clockwork Angel I smile. I received the book a week ago from the awesome people over at Simon&Schuster and dove straight into reading it! Had to be dragged away from the book! Literally.

"Magic is dangerous-but love is more dangerous still.

When sixteen-year-old Tessa Gray crosses the ocean to find her brother, her destination is England, the time is the reign of Queen Victoria, and something terrifying is waiting for her in London's Downworld, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the gas lit streets. Only the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the world of demons, keep order amidst the chaos.

Kidnapped by the mysterious Dark Sisters, members of a secret organization called The Pandemonium Club, Tessa soon learns that she herself is a Downworlder with a rare ability: the power to transform, at will, into another person. What's more, the Magister, the shadowy figure who runs the Club, will stop at nothing to claim Tessa's power for his own.

Friendless and hunted, Tessa takes refuge with the Shadowhunters of the London Institute, who swear to find her brother if she will use her power to help them. She soon finds herself fascinated by,and torn between, two best friends: James, whose fragile beauty hides a deadly secret, and blue-eyed Will, whose caustic wit and volatile moods keep everyone in his life at arm's length . . . everyone, that is, but Tessa. As their search draws them deep into the heart of an arcane plot that threatens to destroy the Shadowhunters, Tessa realizes that she may need to choose between saving her brother and helping her new friends save the world. . . . and that love may be the most dangerous magic of all."

First off, having read The Mortal Instruments Series and loving it to death I was waiting to see if Clockwork Angel could match the level of awesomeness. HELLS TO THE FREAKING YES IT DID! Fans of Cassandra Clare’s the Mortal Instruments will definitely not be disappointed with the debut novel in the new series The Infernal Devices.
Cassandra Clare once again creates a world that we’d all wish to live in. With shocking twists that nobody could see coming and even more sinister plots, Clockwork Angel promises to take readers on a dark and winding ride that has quite a few unexpected turns.

Off the bat we are introduced to the main character Tessa Gray. From there we are catapulted into the drama that follows her. Tessa makes her way across waters from New York to London in the pursuits to live with her brother, Nathaniel, and start new, after losing her Aunt in New York. Arriving on the docks of London, nothing seems to go as planned. Held captive for weeks by the Dark Sisters who are part of The Pandemonium Club and working for the ever mysterious leader the Magister, Tessa is forced and taught to embrace her “gift” she never knew she had of transforming into people by self-control. Coming to her rescue, is no other than an extremely HOT shadowhunter. Falling into the sudden realization that she is not just human and her brother is held hostage by the Magister, Tessa finds herself making the move to help the shadowhunters fight whatever it is that is threatening her and her brother. Set in a different and much older era, the troubles and solutions surrounding this story are definitely different and get readers turning pages faster then EVER. And where there are shadowhunters involved, there must be love somewhere in the air and as we come to realize through Cassandra Clare’s books is if it isn’t the demons, vampires or other downworlders trying to kill our beloved characters, it’s love that does the trick!

I absolutely loved every second of reading this book. There was no moment that I wasn’t captivated by the characters on paper! Without doubt I recommend this book to ANYONE, you will not be disappointed!
